An Unbelievably Huge Opportunity to work for Immigration Reform
The work of our church, in response to Harry Pangemanan's detention and release, has gained national attention. On Sunday, Marcy 21st, there is a march planned in Washington D.C. that should bring 100,000 people or more together to push our government to craft a better set of immigration laws. Pastor Seth and Harry have been asked to be speakers at the event—which will be held on the Mall. Seth just received word that RCHP Members will be asked to come up and stand behind Seth and Harry while they address the crowd!!! Check out www.wemarchforamerica.org.
The event on Sunday was everything it promised to be-and more! The official estimate for the day was that there were more than 200,000 people on the mall in Washington, all rallying for changing in Immigration Law. The crowd was enthusiastic, peaceful and yet demanding...that now is the time for comprehensive reform to our nation's Immigration Policies. There were many high points to the day, but one high point was a televised 3 minute speech from President Obama, addressing the crowd. He informed the crowd that in 2010 he would make Immigration Reform a priority, and that he would work to fix our broken system. The crowd went wild!!! The crowd also went wild when one Harry Pangemanan from New Jersey told his story about detention and the hard work of his congregation to bring about his freedom. At one point Harry got the crowd of 200,000 to erupt with excitement when he said the phrase, my Pastor got on the plane and told me to 'keep hope alive.' Harry then thrust his arm in the air and yelled, KEEP HOPE ALIVE! The crowd sounded like they did when Obama was speaking!!! Unfortunately, he was too far away from the stage during Pastor Seth and Harry's speech, so he had to  take their images through the big screen monitor near them.
