This unusual variant of ancient Chen tradition derives from Wang Ge Dang Village - not too distant from Chen Village.
Malisa Ng (New Zealand Chen Teacher) was lucky to film 30 mins of a private demo (in China 2003) by members of the leading family of this variant Chen tradition. This fragment is by 12 yr old Chen Mun.(More at www.taichichen.com)

  • Relationship between Zhaobao and ancient Chen Village tradition isn't clear. When above was written majority consensus was Zhaobao as an offshoot of Chen Village practice from around the 1500s. In recent years consensus leans a little more towards greater independence of the Zhabao tradition. As documented evidence does not seem extant it looks like we will never know for sure.

  • Hulei derives from Zhaobao, not from Chen

  • @ajaben Wu and Sun style.

  • Fabulous rooting. I love it

  • Mangojuice: I'd consider "normal" Chen style to be like what's practiced in Chen village (although I know there are variations there too).

  • i've heard of this type of taiji, just never SEEN it. looks real fast, even faster maybe than xingyi fajing. anyone out there care to share some info for the new guy? i'd be grateful.

No defensa?
