whenever you're within a wingspan or so of the ground you're in it, but it's hardly noticeable until you slow down

@surferei ground effect also has alot to do with angle of attack, it's there, but not nearly as apparent in level flight and higher speeds... and always remember, there are old pilots and bold pilots, but very few old, bold pilots. This guys is fairly bold, with thin ice and unbroken forest on each side...

Pretty good vid, excellent flying. betcha U burn a lotta gas doing that. gotta throw a lotta control surface into the wind to make them curves. I know very little. around 300 hrs never liscenced first flight at age 14 in a '37 Stearman crop duster in 1958. Slow biplane but lotta lift!  I was line boy for duster that year and he was fool enuf to let me solo, since, my vision has limited me but I've flown and landed some Twins.....Under instruction. Thanks for the show.

This is one of the BEST videos with a great song I've seen on YT. Even in its' simplicity of the front seat of this plane going forward makes me wish I was sitting there. I want to do this. Fly..even in a remote area with snow like where the pilot is. Already falling in love.
