@rayLRA "On what basis would you judge their credibility?" To Answer your question I would say honesty, I would like to see a source that sticks to the facts as much as possible even if it says something different then what. To say Obama is trying as one of his goals to destroy America is a blatantly dishonest statement and calls into question the sources credibility. If the story was, is Obama leading America down the wrong road? could be a biased but at least a credible opinion.
@rayLRA Yes everyone including myself has a bias, I personally try and look past that bias as much as possible. I am willing to except a source with a conservative bias if I find them to be honest. I'm not asking for you to do my homework I am saying if you want people to take your claim and your source seriously it needs to be a credible and honest source. I found the site you provided to be pushing an agenda without concern about that facts.
@rayLRA I don't want a debate ether but I want to understand my point. A genetic fallacy would be, she cant be right because she is a woman, I am saying after reading your source, I have good reason to believe they are not honest or credible. You did misrepresent my argument by saying its that i just don't "like" what your source is saying. I have legitimate concerns about the honesty of the source based on the other articles posted on this site.
@Fireflygamer ...Everyone has a bias, including yourself. That the source has a bias (left or right) is irrelevant at this point and also impossible to avoid. I don't blindly believe everything I read on the Internet. We agree in verifying things, but don't expect me to do your homework for you :) The fact that I can find other quotes from diff. places would only prove that I was able to find them, not their truthfulness as you seem to think. On what basis would you judge their credibility? ;)
@Fireflygamer I don't intend to continue, a debate here, so this is my last reply. I think you should look up what those fallacies are. Your argument here was against the source, not my claim.. so it is a genetic fallacy. I did not commit a straw-man fallacy, since I never misrepresented your position to begin with...
... everything you read on the internet. I also never said the quote was not true it might be, but what i wanted was a second source to confirm that it is true, that is not a fallacy. But since we are talking about fallacy what about the straw man fallacy you just made, you took my reasonable request to get a credible source and turned it into me saying "if i don't like it what the source is saying it can't be true". Me liking them has nothing to do with the whether they are credible or not.
@rayLRA no it dose not have to come from a source I like but it dose need to come form a source that is credible. Any one can put up a web site and say anything they want, so to believe it, it needs to come from a credible sources, like a news site or someone with a proven track record of getting things right. I find it ironic that on a video about bias you source an obviously bias site. This is not a genetic fallacy its asking for a credible source of information, or do you believe ....
@Fireflygamer Sorry. I forgot that for a particular quote to be true, it must come from a source of your liking. You're simply committing a genetic fallacy. Cheers.
@Azakhiel"We're not much better off in Canada, I tells ya." speak for yourself hun, the news media is no were nearly this bad, first they do not use fear tactics to effect political change, second they are not allowed to lie on the air or misrepresent the truth. Fox was denied there Canadian broadcast license because the licensing board was not convinced they could present a far & truthful account of the facts. While we do have issues with our media, its no were near as bad as fox.
@rayLRA your source is a right wing propaganda site its no surprise that the quote you put up is on that site, do you have any credible sources that can confirm this quote? Now it dose not have to be a liberal website but could you please use a source that dose not claim Obama is trying to destroy America as the first story on the page, it might lend a little credibility.
