Wherever, US President, George Bush visits in the world, he is met with demonstrations of thousands of people who oppose his government's policies of war, militarism and the domination and exploitation of poor countries. In Australia, people gathered from all over and a number of protests and meetings were held to protest Bush's visit. This is the activist side of the story from the alternative media, ARTV.

  • Dear Jolly Professor, the vote was to march to the 'no go zone'. On the day, there was a wall of armed cops blocking the way into the 'no go zone'. Some people sat down but as there was nowhere people could go (between the wall of cops) the pressure from behind pushed people into the park. As the cops were looking for an incident, it was remarkable that none occurred. But right at the end of everything the cops grabbed a couple of people and arrested them and thereby got their media stunt.

  • In the meeting, when the show of hands vote was taken, what were the two options that were voted on exactly?
