Prayer and devotional songs mark Navratri festival Chief Minister Shree Narendrabhai Modi inaugurated Vibrant Gujarat Navratri Mahotsav at University ground Ahmedabad today. Prayers and devotional songs mark the occasion. Vibrant Navratri festival is based on the theme of Shaktini Saptadhara .It is jointly organised by Government of Gujarat and Gujarat Industrial Navratri Festival Society. The longest dance festival of the world, Gujarat comes alive in all its cultural glory. Referring to the great spiritual appeal, Chief Minister Shree Narendrabhai Modi said, "As legend has it, Navratri festival would infuse new life in to the society. I welcome all the artists who have come to take part in the festival. Navratri festival is the festival of Shakti -Puja. Garba and Dandiya-Ras has created global appeal. "Chief Minister reiterated his views that people of Gujarat have entrepreneurial spirit, but they also preserve and nurture our rich cultural heritage. If we disown our cultural roots, if we do not celebrate the festivals, progress of society gets stagnated. Chief Minister expressed his confidence that Gujarat would scale global heights in the coming days. Festivals play a crucially important role in the development of the society. Chief Minister visited theme pavilions, exhibitions, food courts. He also observed Craft-Bazaar and adventure sports pavilions, foreign dignitaries also joined with him during his visit and Maha Aarati. Delivering welcome address, Chairman G.N.F.C and M.P Shree Parimal Nathvani said, "Visionary initiatives of the Chief Minister have reaped positive results. Navratri festival and Shakti-Pujan has won global recognition." High Commissioners-Ambassadors of 18 countries- Malaysia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia, Kenya, Nigeria, Albania, Thai, Ravanda, Turkey, Uganda, Shri Lanka, Ghana, Peru, France, Nepal, Japan, and Korea-, representatives of 35 nations were present on this auspicious occasion. Foreign delegates had savored the divine glory of the Navratri festival. Speaker of the Gujarat Assembly Shree Ashokbhai Bhatt, Mayor of Ahmedabad Shree Kanaji Thakor, Council of Ministers Shree Narottambhai Patel, Fakirbhai Vaghela, Nitinbhai Patel, Jaynarayan Vyas, Ramanlal Vora, Dilipbhai Sanghani, Saurabhbhai Patel, Amitbhai Shah, Parbatbhai Patel, Jaysinh Chauhan, Parliamentary Secretaries, Chairman-Tourism Corporation Shree Kamleshbhai Patel , Chief Secretary Shree D.Rajgopalan, top officials, eminent leaders were among the others who attended the function.
