This sequence zooms on three ground-based images of Sirius and end up with the Hubble image showing both Sirius and Sirius B. The first ground-based image was taken by Japanese amateur astronomer Akira Fujii and shows the constellations Orion, Canis Minor and Canis major. The second image was composed from images from the Digitized Sky Survey 2. The third ground-based image was also taken by Japanese amateur astronomer Akira Fujii.
