Early morning sled ride off the back side of Gold Hill, Telluride, CO. into Bear Creek Canyon. Camera on my helmet captures my head movements and visual perspective. Aerobatic maneuvers are followed by an approach and landing in the "seizure zone" landing area at the town park. Glider is a Ramair 146, flown by Tom Low. Circa 1994.

  • "seizure zone" my eye. Bro that was nothing less than a clinic on how to land in a confined area. Like the ropes you crossed right before flaring.

  • Thanks man... that LZ is a whole bunch nicer at 8:30 AM when this video was taken than in the mid-afternoon. It was no joke that we called it the "seizure zone" when it was active. The "leisure zone" was a huge field outside of town that most pilots used.

  • Thanks. A real treat. The last time I flew that approach was 1991.

  • nice approach, well done.

  • This is the one thing I will never do but always wanted to do...to hang glide over Telluride. Used to watch from the ground and wish. Nice vid.

  • Wow, Tom - I'm glad to see The Force is still strong in you. Keep on loopin'!
