This lady has a gimmick that happens to be a wonderful sound without the hokie crappiness of what cookie cutter country music is so laden with...... I can listen to her without needing to be sitting in a red neck bar surrounded by demoralising morons and past the legal limit to drive home..... Classy and Country hasn't happened in long time. .

Neither does Shania Twain, what's your point? And when was it a requirement to have have a southern accent to sing country music?

Just because she's black that does not mean she has to limit herself to just R&B. We do know other types of music besides R&B.

Delta Blues artists such as Robert Johnson and many others had a lot of influence on country music.
