My dad was posted out there in 1968, I remember the `fishing` from the windows..most were barred, still, a great upbringing/start in life for me!

I lived there for six months in the early 90's.
Loved it, especially because everything was paid for by my employers.

How nice to see the dear old Nyali, I lived within walking distance of the hotel in the 1980's. The old beach bar was a local watering hole and some of the sessions there were outstanding, as were some of the characters who drank there! Watched QE2 sail out of Mombasa with lights blazing from that bar, and have many happy memories of the place. Delighted to have been a member of the unofficial hotel waterpolo team,BUT it was a hell of a way to sober up! Hakuna Matata!
