The recent storm shifted the sands and an old outfall at Le Braye and a slipway from 1860s-1880s at La Carriere can be seen. The slipway fell victim to German seawall construction during the WWII occupation, as it got in the way of gun coverage of the beach.
On an old map it appears that the slip, La Charriere du Mont du Feu, turned left at the coastline, lead norwards (a bit like the next slip to the south) along the line of the coast, and then turned right/east to join the main road (making an L shape between the slip and the main road) roughly halfway between the slip and the bunker at La Carriere.
