1982 Mercury 70 hp

is there a strange sound turn ur speakers up and let me know anyway got this boat motor and trailer for free was sitting in our neighbors yard and gave there lawn tractor a tune up and got this baby. gave the boat away already but keepin the trailer for spences 8 foot RIB and the motor for th 13 ft grew :p:p:p:p:p any way please let me know if there is somethin wrong with the motor:) would be greatly apreciated.

whats the trick to getting the lower unit back on?

The mercs can sound a bit rattlely if they idel to slow , does it disapear if you raise the revs very slightly ? I had a 40hp which was jus the same, also make sure she is firing on all properly , if you havent allready strip the carbs and clean them. if one s running lean it will sound the same.
