A short case against Irelands blasphemy law and some rebuttals of the arguments presented by its proponents. Almost all the arguments in favour contain logical fallacies or calls for special exceptions that would not be granted in other cases and the remaining arguments violate free speech and are incompatible with democracy and human rights. This video is not nearly all encompassing and as such a second part may be necessary. This law affects theists and atheist alike who endeavour to live freely. This video is a call for those who don't wish to live under a theocracy to demand a referendum and help promote the issue in whatever way they can.

  • I add. The have taken some holy pictures down out of certain irish schools beause the muslim parents objected to them..

  • Karl Marx: "The first requisite for the happiness of the people is the abolition of religion."

  • Wow, I had no idea... I lived in Ireland for a year and I am still attached to it, but I haven't been looking into the news there much. I guess I should keep tabs on this stuff.

    Onto part 2 now.

  • Well put, sir.

The very concept of blasphemy is dripping insecurity and fragility in one's belief system.

  • Good man Mrodub. Keep up the good work. I work in the Middle East and have seen first hand what theocratic laws do to a peoples freedoms.
