What a cute bat! Why didn't you take "Bat out of hell" as background music? ;)
Cheers

You're right that would have been a good choice.

He probably wants blended up mealworms.
Was he released eventually?
I rescued a brown bat from my apartment once, he flew through a window and was hidden under the furniture. I wore very heavy gardening gloves, and was able to get a really good look at the sweet tyke and his sharp teeth. I kept him in a shoebox with a nylon stocking over it and released him once it got dark again. He slept upside down all day, gripping the stocking.
He did ok, but I only had him for maybe 12 hours.
Very cute

I was going to start offering mealies to him but we were finally able to get a member of his roost to walk off with him after a few failed attempts.

That is wonderful that he got adopted! I hope he did ok in the end. They are such wonderful and beneficial creatures.
Thanks for responding.

Not offended at all, it is a good question and yes bats do often carry rabies. I was at some risk of exposure but I was not concerned about this baby bat biting me or breaking the skin. I did not have any cuts or open wounds. Though that is not to say that handling the bat was without risk.
