@angela1894 First of all it is a PIECE not a song. This was a very nice interpretation and who cares if there are a couple of mistakes? We don't have to play up to the 'asian standard' (having no mistakes) This is a very hard piece to play, I would bet you couldn't even begin to try...

@V1C2 That approach to music is what I'm referring to. If you go into music with the notion it's a puzzle to solve, you're only playing games with yourself, with arbitrary rules of your choosing. Life's too short for abstraction; just enjoy it all! Here, Ravel was just painting musical portraits of his friends, the way a painter like David Hockney would, but as a composer. The project was rather touching, and this one in particular is a little sad. Ravel looked into a mirror, and saw this...

@crowdmaker Yes, no, of course the only way i could possibly enjoy ravel is by indulging in peoples' mistakes playing ravel. And while were on that level of valuable commentary; i think you are more mystified by the piece rather than the player.. right?

This is one of the worst, and most unpolished renditions of this song that I've ever heard. You need a LOT more practice, and you don't get a pass because you're black. This is terrible.
