East Orlando Burglar caught on camera - Gilbert Sierra was caught on 10/08/2010!

UPDATE 3/14/2011 - Gilbert Sierra had his trial on this day and plead guilty. He will be serving 16 years of prison time, along with 2 years of drug offender probation. That is one less criminal we have to worry about for a while. I can't imagine one day in prison... 16 years would feel like a life time. By that point, my son will finally be old enough to drive.

UPDATE- Burglar Gilbert Sierra and driver Salvatore Pernicano have been caught!!!! Thanks to the Orange County Sheriff's Office and everybody else that has been very supportive in spreading the word! I didn't think this would happen so quickly.

This happened in East Orlando, Florida. He was riding in a dark first generation Ford Explorer (1991-1994), and it looks like it has the XLT badge.

On October 4th, my son was born at 12:31 PM. After a couple hours after his birth, I get a call from the security company notifying me that the alarms have been triggered. I leave my newborn son to rush home and see what's going on, only to find it ransacked and robbed.

The crime has been off the charts in Orlando ever since the PR invasion!

@polyplaner It's really more about people having a lack of education. Unfortunately, while watching many "caught on camera" shows on TV, there are certain racial groups that do tend to be more criminally active, which just perpetuates the stereotypes that people have of them. I did have a bad view of some of the Hispanic people after I was strong-arm robbed by one, and another group of Hispanic males attempted to rob me on bike, but let's remember that there are many nice people out there too.

Makoto, these must be the same people who broke into my uncle's place last year!

They took an xbox360, and my two laptops from my place. Unfortunately we didn't have an alarm at the time, but they tried to break in two more times after we got an alarm system!!!

We live off of bloomfield drive (between dean and rouse road), where there has been a rash of burglaries in that area.

@loll69 Wow, I wonder if it's the same people. If you continue down on Bloomfield past Rouse, it becomes the street I'm on, Tree Shore Dr.

What has this town come to? I wonder how these burglars would feel if they were broken into?

I wonder if cell phone companies keep a detailed record of the location the burglar's phone was used, then they might be able to match up the time and place and see if the burglar's cell was used there.

maybe they are, grant it, my house was burglarized a year ago. so theres the chance they still do not have our stuff, but you never know.
