What people are slowly waking up to is that severe punishment does NOT NOT NOT cure society's ills, never has, never will!

Moreover: rehabilitation is COMPLETELY possible if we're willing to treat people with a little dignity and give them proper councelling immediately.

We can have a society of good people or ex-cons smarting from a good beating. Which do you think would be safer for your kids to grow up in?

A nation is only as good as it treats its children. Lockdown isn't just in CYA, it's in most schools in North America. It's psychological abuse and is instilling terror in our children. Child welfare agencies are the worst, and will stop at nothing to split a family apart. Good families with good children are split apart because they were labeled as 'high risk'. Who labeled them - not the single mothers working their butts of to keep their kids out of trouble, but so-called Child Protection.

While I agree some youths just like adults (honestly arbitrary numbers is a stupid classification system) are a danger to society.. it's hard to believe all the people trapped in there are of the same condition. How many went in for a pointless arrest, and came out criminals after learing to surive that enviroment. Feeling betrayed by society for casting them in with the wolves.

thats worse than florida prisons i have been in ,i deserved prison but kids dont deserve to be treated like that,if u keep me locked up all day and can never get air either am gonna kill or turn insane that is called being human,u treat someone bad and then the results will be bad.

and by the way, im not saying kids who stole 20 should be treated like that, im referring to ones out here killing and raping kids and old people. yes i think our government shouldnt have stuck nose in the damn busting kids ass law. i know some parents abuse, busted ass is not abuse. but i know there alot more kids getting in trouble with law cause government no longer lets us whip em as children.

oh im only 14 years older than u and I like one more class in sociology and then ill be working with juvenile delinquents by choice, since i was one i think i can relate. so now what u think? the idea is to punish these kids b4 they become adults so they dont want to commit crimes in futre.so how the hell is giving them a luxury estate doing that, they will just figure hell i can do what i want and 3 REAL nice hots and cot, not to mention probably fucking swimming pool and cable?

Oh wow how original? I am probably twice your age and have seen and done more shit than you will ever.Think I know alot .I have 19 pen pals across the USA all in prisons 98% were juvie jail. A few on death row. Now tell me I dont know shit. As ex dancer I have done more and know more than you ever will. I responsible for my own actions. Have I been molested and abused both as a child and an adult? Yes I have. So dont sit back on your litte pedestool and tell me I dont know shit.
