THE BASICZ: the foundation of some of the awe-inspiring park moves on the barz.

Happy New Years and best wishes of prosperity & health to all in our YouTube/Facebook community. With 2010 here, there is "No Excuse for No Fitness", this video is in response to my Youtube family that ask me for a beginners park workout routine that the average person can do to get in shape.

Everything has a beginning, and exercise is no different, even the "Best on the barz" started from a few reps at a time and as time went on progressed to multiple high-rep sets. This video is just a basic routine, no bells & whistles, that you can try as an introductory workout or addition to a already established routine.

As I said, this is a Basic park routine and any of these suggested exercises can be substituted or added on to. I hope this helps all that's in need. My advice for beginners is to document your initial numbers to set a baseline for progress. Start off with 10-15 reps (for Pull ups/Chin ups 3-7 reps) each for 3-5 sets and increase reps & sets with each week.

*5 minute Jump rope drill (Running in place or Jogging)
*5 minute stretching
*Jumping Jacks and Mountain Climbers,
*Pull ups then Holds (Back Rows as an alternative)
*Squats or Lunges
*Core exercise (scissor kicks, V-crunches, planks, reverse crunches, knee tucks, etc)
*Dips (on the bars or bench)
*Push ups (wide, standard, diamonds, inclines, declines, etc)
*Back rows (wide, narrow, underhand)
*10 minute Rope drill
*5 minute stretching

  • This was a real good video. Thank you for the work you put in fam. I like breezing through workouts on youtube. I've seen the Bartendaz among other individuals who put vids up. This was one was great because it showed the first steps to even attempting any of the other work you can do. Good deal. Things like this inspire and motivate me. Stay positive and stay up. Peace

  • @madwithhats I appreciate that my dude. Like I said in the vid, you gotta master the basics before you progress to the advance. Check the YTBT & Highlandaz channel and Facebook page for more vids and routines.

  • This is dead ass one of the best videos on calisthenics I've watched on Youtube. I wish more people put more information in the videos. When they do I can't always hear them... This was great. Thanks!

  • @MREPS412 Thanks for the support my dude, a lot of the Highlandaz vids I post have the workout stated either in the video, or on the side bar. Highlandaz Salute!!!

  • This is awesome, where I live I'm the only one who knows about calisthenics and about all this type of workouts, people think I'm crazy but they get impressed every time they see how my body has changed, and all because of people like you who inspire me with this kind of videos. Much RESPECT from Argentina (south america)

  • @ForeverAlexxxis Thanks man i appreciate that. Keep it positive & building and watch as people start asking to join your workouts. Check us out on Facebook for more routines too.

  • Just started my park exercise routine today. Have to say it beats going to the gym and being cooped up indoors. Nothing like working outdoors in the sun, I totally love it. God bless you all at YTBT, you Cats are a great insparation to all of us.
