Know what a comet's coma is. It's not the nucleus. The size of the coma means nothing. Maybe Elenin will be an ELE but not because of it's coma!

  • The closest its supposed to come is 0.234 AU which is 21,751,658 million miles. I don't know what math your using but you may want to check it. The Sun is about 93,000,000 miles away; Elenin will be a lot closer than that. Check JPLs orbit diagram and do your math again hun. I only correct you because you said it was approximately 0.34 AU its about 34,000,000 miles from earth...WRONG!

  • @keeganssugar ok, fair enough.

  • 250.000 km of ELECTRIC coma IS a trouble!

  • I'm an asteroid-man myself, but I will admit I am intrigued by a comet with a huge tail on it.

  • We shall see gluck.

  • Personally I think Elenin is going to "blow up" like Holmes did, and this is going to be our "Second Sun" they have been preparing us for for some time now. 200,000km Coma - well....we will see.
