  • @luvmusic09 Correction: God can do anything He wishes not anything we wishes.

  • @luvmusic09 The above is from a book written by Richard Swinburne entitled The Coherence of Theism, p. 149. How would one recognize a square circle anyway?

One thing is for sure, God is sovereign over all His creation, and there is nothing in HIs creation that can restrain Him. Not only can He become incarnate if He chooses, He has done so in the person of Yeshua the Messiah.

  • God's being omnipotent does not mean God can do anything we say, it means He can do anything we wishes. A logically impossible action is not an action. It is what is described by a form of words which purport to describe an action, but do not describe anything which is coherent to suppose could be done. It is no objection to A's omnipotence that he cannot make a square circle. This is because making a square circle does not describe anything which is coherent to suppose could be done. -1-

  • To say god cant do something impossible such as "create a square triangle" means nothing, its like asking "what is the color or a hypotenuse?" Stringing nonsensical words together which have no relation to realities observed in the universe are without meaning. Also, what is a theological impossibility? it seems like the incarnation of god is impossible because of the material incarnation itself (which is a physical problem)... not because of a non material theological issue.
