Recorded from TV in 1993. Cabot Rea from WCMH-TV (NBC-4) Columbus, OH was at Paramount's Kings Island with his daughter. Top Gun was brand new. I edited this for time.

  • Hey this is Meredith Rea and oh my God, that's me at 8 years old! Thank you for posting this, thats a great memory of me and my dad together.

  • Cool! I'm glad you found this post. You and your dad made a great team. Very entertaining!

  • Cabot Rea- "this ones a screamer"

    That's what she said lol

  • Nice! :D

  • Coasterbob, you didn't edit out any Phantom Theater did you?? ;)

  • It may look like it, but nope, I didn't edit any of PT out. It's a remarkably short scene isn't it? I'm sure someone at the station has great footage of the entire ride. We need to find that dude!

  • Wow - my son found this and proved to him that I actually did work for Kings Island long before he was born!

  • Wow only 23.95 for a day at the park and kids 11.95, I remember the days every year from the time I was 5 years old going to the park every summer now to go to a theme park is like over half that absolutely crazy!

  • @vekoma Yes looked so bad this summer made you think twice about riding it.

  • Yippy Skippy!

  • He looks a lot like David Hasselhoff.

  • so sad to see how Top Gun has deteriorated over the years :( ive been looking everywhere to see some vintage footage of when it was new and it looks like it really was something special back in those days. so sad to see it given a generic name "Flight Deck", peeling paint, and no more theming :( it really is still a great ride though of the few remaining Arrow suspendeds left
