A promotional video for a Tim Nagae's documentary, "Austin's Movie." Feel free to call Tim at (734) 649-3351 or e-mail him at timnagae1@hotmail.com for a free DVD copy of "Austin's Movie."

"Austin's Movie" is about an 8 year old boy, Austin, who is diagnosed with autism. He loves taking pictures of the art sculptures, Brighton Biennial in Brighton, Michigan. However, the story is interwoven with the town's conservative reaction to these sculptures that Austin loves and photographs.

The film is, in fact, about Austin, who happens to be diagnosed with autism; it is not possible to talk about autism by singling out one autistic individual, but the film shows autistic culture and nature in a way.

The producer, Tim Nagae, hopes this movie will help fight against discrimination.

"Austin's Movie" was originally broadcast on WFUM Flint Michigan Television, Michigan November 2008 and later on WGVU Grand Rapids, WKAR Lansing, WTVS Detroit and WGTE Toledo, Ohio in 2009. It won the 2008 Accolade Award - the Award of Excellence www.theaccolade.net and the 2009 Telly Bronze Award. It was also nominated for the 2009 Michigan Chapter EMMY award.

This one-minute-and-forty-second-promotional video is also created by Nagae himself.

Note: this promo was originally made about 9 months before Nagae finished producing the movie to show some parts of the movie at an event for Brighton Biennial artists. Also, the background music of the classical guitar instrumental song is called, "Austin" written and performed by Nagae.

Tim Nagae's e-mail address is timnagae1@hotmail.com if you would like to comment on this promo or view the entire movie. The copies of this movie are not sold, but Tim is going to send you a free DVD copy if you like. So please call or e-mail him.

"Austin's Movie" was shown at Detroit-Winsor Film Festival, Winsor, Canada, Brighton Film Festival, Flint Film Festival and Detroit Docs Film Festival and East Lansing Film Festival (Michigan).
