Pet Bird Cruelty

PLEASE READ:
please look after your parrots properly, or don't get one at all. Next time you want to get a bird consider saving one from a shelter. There are many reasons for plucking, like illness or just a bad habit but its mostly* because of boardem. i have a young cockatiel named Rosie, shes a lovely bird. thanks to Birdlady for inspiring me to make this veido. i have never seen anyone so passinate about saving birds.

@BIRDANGAL why wouldn't u rescue a bird? There just as good, and your helping give it a better life. Buying birds from a breeder or pet store is only sopporting the demand of birds from over seas, sopporting the capture of these amazing animals to be breed and be sold.

@BIRDANGAL firstly, thats incredibly hard to read. and seconly i don't think you can be "declined" from resucing a bird. I have done so my self and my Aunty has rescued at least five birds. Lastly, there is no "proper" way to breed and sell birds, treating then nice is great but it doesn't help the demand for more. Every bird you sell could of been a diffrent bird that needed that new home much more.

OK...this seriously needs to be seen by EVERYONE who is thinking about getting a bird of ANY size. They are much more work than most people realize, and need YEARS and sometimes DECADES of commitment. If you are not up to this kind of commitment, then please enjoy birds in other ways other than owning them. They need MORE than seeds to eat, and LOTS of toys to shred/play with. despite our best efforts, some wind up plucking anyhow... like my Tara..or worse. God Bless.

Thanks for making the video. I will never get a bird, adopted or otherwise, because birds were born to do one thing: fly free. They are not decorations for someone's living room. To cage a bird or put a fish in a bowl is to deny them everything they were born to do. No wonder the birds go psychotic and pull out their own feathers.

I have 2 rescues that are pluckers, they have sad stories as well. I'll never understand how people can be so cruel and ignorant. Having a parrot is like having a child. I'm a mother of a human child as well, and I know they all demand love, care, and attention. Most people don't realize that and it's very sad.
