@MncDssctn You speak the truth. I can't even eat fruit. I get sick from eating whole grains. Maybe one day I will be able to handle grains again but right now I feel better just staying away from them.

... so even low-carb athletes that want that performance edge, tend to eat low-carb while training, and then cycle carbs in on the day-before and the day-of competition. Yams, being lower-GI are a great choice for this type of low-carb athlete.
That way they keep lean and good glycemic control (important for competitive diabetic athletes), but have both the glycogen stores AND the fat-stores required for peak-performance during competition.
-
@TheUFCbruh Also of note, for an ultra-high performance endurance athlete, where they're competitive, carbs are a better fuel source for competition - because glucose - although not generating as much ATP per molecule as fat, does burn slightly faster.
Thus for someone who's ELITE the carbs may be superior fuel - but only for those ELITE, competitive athletes. The rest of us do FINE utilizing fat for fuel.

@LCHFinCanada Well, I read that carbs are the most effective energy source in the body. Mostly what I was talking about was with working out. But, from what I've read you are right.
-
@LCHFinCanada what absolutely NOBODY needs, or should eat, however, is REFINED/PROCESSED carbs/sugars. The best sources of carbohydrate are non-starchy / lower-GI vegetables. Fruit, in moderation, is fine for many people - but it's higher in sugars and calories than vegetables, and contains no nutrients not already found in vegetables.

@TheUFCbruh ... except it doesn't. At all. there is absolutely NO dietary need for carbohydrate, and that is a scientific fact.
That being said, for some people, there's certainly no problem eating carbohydrate, and it's part of a healthy diet for many. For others, they DO need to restrict avoid it. (Like diabetics, etc.)
However, the fact remains, there is NO dietary need for carbohydrate, and the science all bears out that fact.

@LCHFinCanada body needs carbs bro

Well you can't continue to eat it like you did.

Excellent presentation.
@brianv00 Maybe nobody -gets- fat on brown rice, but for people who've eaten junk all their life and have already become obese and screwed up their blood sugar, whole grains is not the answer to get slim and healthy, most of them need to stay away from all grains. I am one example, I was a sugar addict until about a year ago, I tried to switch from white flour to whole grains, didn't help at all, replacing starch with natural fats on the other hand did.
