A test movie made for an educational robot making programme. Features the Plunderbird guys telling us how a walking robot was made called Junior/Plunderbug, and also some Middleweight robots fighting. These were made by Glenn Crossley of Area 51 in the UK but are now looked after by Laurie Calvert. MCPS 5965 BPI 6271 PPL 6271. www.calvertfilm.fsnet.co.uk

  • can imagine the ad on ebay

buy your combat robots very simple and effective avalible in 8 designer colours

  • They are very basic indeed. Made by a guy called Glenn, and he made eight. They were designed to run for two hours and be as reliable as possible. So a different remit to normal RW machines. Glenn used to run a RW style place in Southend called 'Area 51'. When it shut I bought six of them. Three I sold (sometimes they appear on eBay again), two I kept, and one was destroyed in battle against Lightning at a show. My engineer was driving Lightning, and he owned the one that got totalled.

  • thing with the yellow and blue robots anything goes wrong with them (mabe other than armor) it seems a quick, simple, cheap dix as they are very basic but very good robot non the less

  • Junior is Mike & Brians. But yes I have both the yellow and blue Robofighter robots and they are still 100% working order, although a little battered as they have fought for hours and hours. They are getting a bit slower now and would not be competitive against modern 29kg machines. But they are great against each other for a bit of fun.

  • do you still have that robot
