  • @VeXYproductions subwoofers are generally used only for mastering, for almost all mixes most of the music is in the mid and high ranges where any studio monitor should give a fairly accurate image. I usually either turn off my sub or have it turned way down for mixing then turn it back up to fill in the lows when I master. If you do a lot of rap or music that has tons of bass it's good to use a sub for mixing, but anything acoustic or pop should be mixed without a sub, it's easier without one.

  • @SteveThePorter yea for sure. I shoulda been a little more clear on my last reply.

  • I want to know, what difference does it make for the microphone to be upside down or right side up? Does it have to do with how noise is received?

  • @LBTurtle no difference.. i just prefer it upside down to keep the cables out of the way. it depends on you setup though.. there is no right way.

  • @RHASHARD478 DO ANYBODY KNOW

  • HOW DO I SETUP THE MXL 990 IN FRUITY LOOPS

  • Great singing dude! Mic sounds fantastic

  • @SteveThePorter yep. its also very important to have a sub monitor because most regular studio monitors don't output a good low frequency range. a lot of people crank up the bass to where it sounds good with the normal studio monitors but then when they go to play it on a system with a sub the bass level is way too high.

  • @Msdancesinglaugh Studio Monitors are the best speakers for recording (I have KRK Rokit 5 G2's) because they provide the best audio quality and make it easier to mix everything properly. If you have speakers with a big subwoofer and lots of bass, you won't hear your song the way it really is because your speakers add so much to it. By mixing with more balanced studio monitors its easier to get the right volume levels and get your song sounding great.

  • @FalseColor Get an audio interface that has Phantom power. I have a Tascam US-800 and it is absolutely fantastic, however there are cheaper alternatives too. The Yamaha Audiogram is a great low-budget but high quality interface.
