If you have bent however, you should watch this video to get a better understanding about new and old lumber and what the big differences are. Old lumber often becomes brittle and it's hard to work with where new lumber is soft, because it's still wet and hasn't dried out yet. New lumber is usually easier to drive nails into and is easier to cut. There are some big differences between using new and old lumber and if you want some more information, watch the video.
