This is from the Beyond Belief Conference of 2006. I have uploaded them in this format so that it may appeal to broad audience looking for both individual lectures and the entire series. Please, if you enjoy these, donate to The Science Network.

I urge you to check out The Science Network's site as it has more information about this and many other interesting subjects. They hold the copyright on this material (to my knowledge) and if they should want me to remove this, I will comply. In my defense, I just wanted to get this information out to as many people as possible.

  • Theotoxins! X^D

  • @NeosimianSapiens The day the secrets of the universe are beyond our grasp is the day after we stop stretching our arms out for them.

  • @test123ok

    yeah I know.

Is it me or does Charles Darwin(@4:50)look slightly arrogant. He could be sleepy but putting the context together he looks arrogant

  • "Normal people" lmao.

  • aaahh,. i was so tired of watching debates between religious people and atheists .. finally a conference where everyone is honest ! ...so educational and productive !!

  • I've heard that "smell of onions" story a couple of times before. The line I remembered was "Overall there is a smell of onions". Was it actually Oliver Wendell Holmes who said that?

The secret of the universe is just beyond our grasp, people!

  • @ubermensch826 I don't think he's falling asleep. I don't know about you, but when I'm in an audience at a conference like that I find that closing my eyes can help me listen better. I think that's what that guy is doing.

Of course, I'm not an ubermensch. Maybe things work differently for you and the 825 others.

  • @MrLivingparadox I think scientists ought to consistently value parsimony, and not change the burden of proof.

But, that isn't scientific data. The best scientific evidence IMO is in the neuro(psycho)logical evidence right in this video (the split brain patient/temporal brain stimulation).

  • I'll give you the answer... the scientific proof is the existence of religion. A personal God is excluded by definition, in the existence of your religions.

  • guy falling asleep win at 4:38
