@Designed2BeMe Steps done well will get more. I left that out of my original post. And yeah... Duh! If you don't do steps, you're going to have a tough time recalling. Or even dancing. :D

@reelburke I agree but it's clear that steps will get points in Oireachtas.

@Designed2BeMe Not necessarily--there are girls that excel at figures, and others who excel at solo, and some who excel at both. And I think in the Oireachtas (for the ceilis) you get more points for how sharp, springy, and well you do the traditional dances. For solos, you are judged on steps, no doubt. No need to attack dancers about it.

@ItsTheEJ Okay, as if you actually dance. These are easy to learn, if you were good enough to go to an oireachtas then you'd able to remember an eight-hand. :L
Plus, obv you get more points for the steps... Oireachtas dancer my hole :L

lol i remember doing this ceili for the oireachtas one year....let's just say it didnt turn out quite as nice as this one. i remember everyone being really frustrated with my teacher because it was so hard to learn and remember. but she wouldnt let up cause apparently we get extra points for doing a hard dance -_-
