I saw them live last night and they played this. Crumb of course is in France doing whatever the French do but the combo still does it's once a year gig at teh Fright and Salvage in Berkeley. Most excellent!

I have the utmost respect, admiration and affection for R Crumb. The art is brilliant and I've spent countless hours enjoying and even copying it. He's a brilliant social critic and thinker, generally, too.
Sorry, though, I stray from his assessment of nearly all things musical from the "Old Days" being vastly superior to almost all things since then. There's old crap and new crap. Old treasures and new treasures. I made a living for 35 years playing lots of styles .
Again, though - he's a gem

Truly enjoyable, I'd like them to come to some of my old-timer jams

Someone is playing a saw in this piece!

Ahh, simplicity, sincerity, and above all soul! Beautiful music

I'm also a long-time fan of these guys. Had all their stuff on LP, but I need to get it on CD. They choose wonderfully joyous, oddball tunes and play them with love and good energy. Just enough slightly off-pitch notes to make it quirky and homespun.

Did these guys actually make a living outa this ? I do hope so.

I heard this a couple of years ago and completely forgot about it....

Not a theremin. You are hearing a baritone saw (Robert Armstrong) and a single string Stroh violin (Al Dodge), The Stroh violin is a horned stringed instrument with a most particular sing-song sound. I believe Al has one and four stringed Strohviols. The Suits love their toys.

Great song...Thanks for posting...God Bless Robert!
