Composed by Richard Thompson & sung by Seán Keane.http://www.seankeane.com/

Oh she dressed in the dark
And she whispered amen
She was pretty in pink
Like a young girl again
Twenty years married
And she never thought twice
She sneaked out the door
And walked into the night
And silver wings carried her
Over the sea
From the west coast of Ireland
To West Tennessee
To be with her sweetheart,
Oh she left everything
From Galway to Graceland to be with the king

She was humming Suspicion,
That's the song she liked best
She had Elvis I Love You
Tattooed on her breast
When they landed in Memphis,
Well, her heart beat so fast
She'd dreamed for so long,
Now she'd see him at last
She was down by his graveside
Day after day
Come closing time they
Would pull her away
Ah to be with her sweetheart,
Oh she'd left everything
From Galway to Graceland to be with the king

Ah, they came in their thousands
From the whole human race
To pay their respects
At his last resting place
But blindly she knelt there
And she told him her dreams
And she thought that he answered
Or that's how it seems
Then they dragged her away
It was handcuffs this time
She said "my good man are you out of your mind?"
Don't you know that we're married?
See, I'm wearing his ring.
From Galway to Graceland to be with the king.
I come From Galway to Graceland to be with the king.

  • It would be very hard to beat Richard Thompson's version of his own song but I think Sean has done it!

  • I've always liked the sound of Seán Keane's voice. This song is super too. Excellent upload!

  • I love this!

  • any footage of Sean singin Dylans Abondoned Love?

  • He's like and Irish Randy Travis!

  • Elvis sang "Suspicious Minds,

  • This is one of the best songs I ever heard. sean Keane has a voice you could never mistake for another. He's just brilliant. This song of course is beautifully written. Richard Thompson did a brilliant job.

  • @dunskie Suspicion" is a song written by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman. It was one of 25 songs Pomus and Shuman wrote for Elvis Presley.

"Suspicion" featured on Presley's 1962 album Pot Luck with Elvis. The song became a hit in 1964, through an Elvis sound-alike cover version by Terry Stafford. The Stafford version of "Suspicion" peaked at No. 3 in the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, and No. 31 in the UK Singles Chart.

  • @dunskie Whoops. Just learned that Elvis recorded "Suspicion" 2 years before Stafford........ Never mind.

  • Great tune. "Suspicion" is a Terry Stafford song though. I didn't even know Elvis did it, even though it sounds just like him.

  • Recognisable immediately as a Richard Thompson song and so beautiful. Seán's voice complements the song; I love it.

  • Heard Seán in mullaghbawn south Armagh about 11 years ago and have loved him ever since!
