This is one of the best songs I ever heard. sean Keane has a voice you could never mistake for another. He's just brilliant. This song of course is beautifully written. Richard Thompson did a brilliant job.

@dunskie Suspicion" is a song written by Doc Pomus and Mort Shuman. It was one of 25 songs Pomus and Shuman wrote for Elvis Presley.
"Suspicion" featured on Presley's 1962 album Pot Luck with Elvis. The song became a hit in 1964, through an Elvis sound-alike cover version by Terry Stafford. The Stafford version of "Suspicion" peaked at No. 3 in the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, and No. 31 in the UK Singles Chart.

@dunskie Whoops. Just learned that Elvis recorded "Suspicion" 2 years before Stafford........ Never mind.

Great tune. "Suspicion" is a Terry Stafford song though. I didn't even know Elvis did it, even though it sounds just like him.

Recognisable immediately as a Richard Thompson song and so beautiful. Seán's voice complements the song; I love it.

Heard Seán in mullaghbawn south Armagh about 11 years ago and have loved him ever since!
It would be very hard to beat Richard Thompson's version of his own song but I think Sean has done it!
