its my parakeets first time laying eggs too ill move ing there coge in my room to watch them more and lorn about how they take care of there eggs i have no clo hen they were born but ill take them out and go in to a dark room and take my flash light to see if they are fartil so to me its like a progect
You may be better off leaving your birds alone to care for the eggs rather than interfering. If your actions cause the parents to abandon care, you have to be prepared to syringe-feed the babies every couple hours around the clock, as well as provide a consistent temperature-controlled environment. Even first time parents can do it correctly, so giving them a chance is the best first step. The parents can give an immune system boost to the new chicks during the formative first couple weeks, too.
