Zach Wahls Speaks About Family

Zach Wahls, a 19-year-old University of Iowa student spoke about the strength of his family during a public forum on House Joint Resolution 6 in the Iowa House of Representatives. Wahls has two mothers, and came to oppose House Joint Resolution 6 which would end civil unions in Iowa.

Your comment assumes that we are all homosexual deep down and all we need is society's approval we'll all "come out." I'm not sure about you, but a law won't change my sexual preference. We're not talking about forcing everyone to condone homosexuality (although I certainly do), we are talking about giving them the same rights as everyone else. Additionally there is a massive ignorance towards gays and pro creation, there are pioneered techniques to allow same sex couples to have children. This is not natural are you going to say? Well neither is medical intervention or medicine, clothes and cars but does that stop you using them?

This would be an assumption on your part that gay people want to take over the planet. No.. We just want to live equally with the heterosexuals on this planet. We are not asking straight people to become gay... Do you really think that restricting the rights and freedoms of gay people is really going to save the planet? To do this we would have to be a threat to the planet first of all. Also applying restrictions and ignorant barriers in the way is not going to prevent people being gay.
