WOW! The deepest respect to this young man.NINETEEN years old yet he spoke with such eloquence & authority. There are many, many politicians who are twice, three times this man's age who could never be as verbose as he was.He is so right, how could anyone meet him & instantly know he was raised by a same-sex couple? And why would it matter? He has clearly been raised in a loving responsible respectful home. Now,anyone, tell me he's been 'damaged' by having being raised in a same-sex family!

@VeradoonKing history will prove me wrong in the future? What? you are mindless and ignorant. Shut your hole and get back to your spelling homework. You have a test on Monday. Your 3rd grade teacher will be mad if you fail it once again.

@geraorma Ha, of course he would be nervous :). I wouldn't have been able to do that at all; I'd be terrified. It's hard enough for me to give a speech in front of my classmates that are bored and barely paying attention, let alone to a hostile audience in such a charged atmosphere.
I don't necessarily agree with gay marriage, but I am for gay adoption rights and for gays to have civil unions recognized by the federal government.

@TheLighthouse27 Lighthouse is intelligent. Listen to what he says. Uglypinkmachine is just what he says he is.

@VeradoonKing Intelligent comment. When you get your diaper changed then maybe, just maybe, you can join the discussion. First, you need to grow up. Second, you need to take a deep breath and realize you are ignorant. Third, repeat steps 1 and 2. Can you follow simple directions little boy/girl or are you a mix?

and religion cannot interfere with the state or the rights of citizens who aren't required to follow the teachings of your religion. "marriage" doesn't belong just to religion. the sacrament of marriage as performed by a church is derived from God. the institution of marriage as recognized by the state has nothing to do with religion. so access to civil marriage should be available to all legal citizens. oh btw, states AND religions HAVE changed the definition of marriage before.
@jaythecommish Just because it takes a male and a female to make a child doesn't necessarily mean you need a male and a female to raise one, though. The ability to reproduce doesn't predict the ability to be a good parent.

I just love the reaction of the guy in the sweater in the background. Dunno who he is in relation to Mr. Wahls, but the smile on his face at the epitomizes this video: "That was BAD ASS!"
