    I'm not saying you're wrong, but I don't think we can forget about The Church when talking about great Aussie bands with their heydays in the 1980s. But most Aussie music from the 80s is great. I just wish I was around at that time.

    australia is wide open and relatively empty and barren,much like the eighties were.the triffids and the go betweens filling both voids is a perfect metaphor.

    funny how two of the best bands of the last 30 years or so were both from Australia and had their heyday in the 1980s (I'm referring of course to the Triffids and the Go Betweens)
