Waltz is 1-2-3 1-2-3 no 4-5-6s. You turn as you step, not just forward and back. Dancing teacher needs to take a trip to Europe and learn how waltz is supposed to be danced.

When it comes to copyrights, they die after a while, so you can use all the classical music you want like Mozart, Beethoven, anything from back then.

Try Billy Joel, Piano Man or Always a woman. Both 3/3 time. Should be able to use a few bars with no problem.
