i don't buy the applicaton of this song to Freddie Mercury unless Elton said so. He adapted it to Diana and he didn't write a version for Freddie. I am impressed with Freddie's talents and drive but in the end his seemingly out of control life killed him. no one could entertain like Freddie.

@siriusminx The words for this were rewritten by Elton John and sung at Diana's funeral. The tune is from the original Marilyn Munroe tribute, but this is definitely the Diana tribute version.

@TheDiabloJones .. See what you are saying and I am very familiar with the original written for Marylin... This version was written for Princess Diana Spencer ....and has very different lyrics especially aimed at her... no mention of Norma Jean in this version.... still innapropriate for Freddie though....
