Something of a blast from the past! I first heard 5th Man Down at Bloodstock festival in 2003. They were the opening band on the friday night (if I remember rightly) and the one thing that sticks out in my mind is Russ's bass having lights all the way up it, which was pretty awesome to me!
I was about 16/17 at that point and they became one of my favourite bands, but because they were based in London and I was in the midlands I never got to see them again. I did buy their first album when it came out, which I still have somewhere.
Fallen far was a demo that I heard in about 2006, it wasn't on an album or anything but just on their website. I downloaded it but must have deleted it or something. Then I kinda forgot about the band after they split up.
It was only when I just chanced upon a video on youtube that I decided to see what else was around, and that's when I found that they'd released an ep with Fallen Far on it. So off I went and bought it and then learnt Fallen Far.
There's a couple of mistakes, but generally I'm really happy with this. I also tried to upload it in a bit better quality than my last vids. I did try to upload in full HD but it would have taken about 2 hours and I couldn't be bothered waiting that long.
I've got a couple of other 5MD songs I think I might try,so watch this space.
Enjoy
Oh, the picture at the end of the vid was taken at Bloodstock 04, it's my 17 year old self int he middle with Russ on the left and Glen on the right. At one point I even had Russ on my msn list, it was a good time to be a teenager!
@PhilTheDrummist - Go for it, those are two of my favourites from the last EP.
When we went into the studio to record the EP before the last one, I was dreading Cauterised. But I managed it in one take, minus the last fill, and luckly Glen recorded the hole thing on my old hi8 camera.

@b0necrack - I've had a few listens to cauterised and I think it's about pushing my co-ordination skills to the limit! I might give it a try to challenge myself, but I'm not holding my breath, haha.

Blimey... never thought I'd see someone covering our stuff on here (this is Russ, by the way) - thanks for all the kind words, we had a blast at Bloodstock - one of our greatest memories as a band. And yes, I've still got the lighty-up bass... :)

@russellwark - Hey Russ, thanks for the comment! I think I have a picture of that lighty-up bass somewhere, taken on a shit disposable camera! If you don't mind, I wouldn't mind getting a couple more covers up, namely Gunshot and Reason, I think they're both awesome drumming tracks!
Bloodstock definitely was one of my best memories, lots of fun for a nerdy 16 year old!
