Quality Update:
HOLY...It's darker than I expected. Make sure to watch in high quality and it seems to look good like that. No other special info needed.
Edit 1:
Okay so I've been running a little behind lately and have just got around to doing this edit even though the contest ended over half a month ago. Anyways, with a huge thank you to whereistheyall I can now announce that the video ended up placing first in the contest. Feels kind of good, but I would also like to give a big hand out to everyone else in the competition. There were quite a few people in it that I was sure I would lose to and they all do really great work. I would love to go up against all of them in the future and I'm sure next time I would have to do an even better job if I want to continue to do well. That is when I get back to making videos. Thank you all for the experience of the competition.
All right I have a lot to say regarding this video so it might take a while:
First of all, this is my contest submission for whereistheyall's amv contest and there was a lot that went on while I was making this AMV so I hope I don't bore you.
I had been wanting to make this video for a while and seeing the contest just gave me a reason to stop procrastinating and make the video. It was originally supposed to be a video to show off just what I could do and how well I could do it. I wanted to prove that I could pull off some of the effects that others could do, but it never really turned out that way.
Working on the video I realized that it belonged more as a simple timing video than anything and, while I wanted to have an absolutely awesome video submission for the contest I didn't want to go around doing something that didn't feel right.
Now, I worked on this video slowly for at least a month now and right up until the halfway point of the video I thought everything was going great. That was, until I got some really bad news at the beginning of this week. I won't bore you with the details, but lets just say that I haven't really been feeling like myself since.
Inevitably I have been doing whatever I could to keep myself busy since it happened. I actually toyed with the idea of not finishing my AMV in time for the contest just because I didn't really feel like it, but I decided against it. First of all, I didn't want to feel like I had just given up, but also I just really needed something to keep myself busy.
So, I finished the AMV, but my timing suffered. You can probably tell too, but I don't think that it really matters that much to me right now. Don't get me wrong, I'm still proud of my work, but I know I could have done better and I just don't really care right now. It was a perfect way to keep myself busy for the last few days and I'm thankful for that.
Now, I have a few people who deserve apologies made to them. First of all, I'm going to apologize to whereistheyall for the video. I would have loved to have given you something better for the contest. There are a lot of other people who I would like to apologize to as well, but I don't really need to give them an apology and definitely not on youtube. So instead, I'll just be there for them as much as I can.
So, yeah. This will probably be my last video for a while till I get a lot of things sorted out. Or, until I start feeling like I need to keep myself busy again. Once again, I'm sorry that this wasn't my best work.
Anime: Bleach
Song: It's My Life by Bon Jovi
Program Used: Sony Vegas
Wow! Thats awesome. Real cool effects all the way through.
I've been wondering about this for a while, but how do you do those colour bars that affect just a strip? Like at 2:28.
And sorry to hear about the bad news.

Oh that, in Sony Vegas you just need to overlay two of the same clips over top of each other. The botton layer will have the color removed like black and white or whatever effect you feel like. The top layer will use a square cookie cutter with either the x or the y repeated to like maximum. You get a bar which you can edit the size and position of to achieve whatever look you want. Hope that helps.
