I'd have liked the land battles if the armies didn't start miles away from each other. Takes 10 minutes before they're in any sort of position to fire against each other. and the navel battles were even worse.

@DeathlyDavid That is true but u still can't hide the fact that he was smart but got to ambitous like Hitler tried to conquer too much in too less time. I'm sure he would've suceeded but this is an example of people who go all out at once and have no reinforcements.

@callofdutyisgreat1 1. Napoleon was sloppy in Russia and didn't anticipate the large distance and the fact that the Russians were cowards and kept running. 2. Ney was a total retard at Waterloo. Like i said, Napoleon left the battlefield for a short time and when he came back the idiot ney charged all the cavalry WITHOUT infantry support. If Napoleon had sent the Old Guard with the cav, he couldve pulled a major Hammer-anvil on the british or engage the cav. Napoleon could've won. Mistakes.

@DeathlyDavid U know Napoleon still got his ass whipped in Russia also he wasn't prepared to face the Russian winter his bad thats why he lost. He was Exiled and then he came back and was defeated at Waterloo to be Exiled again explain how he lost the first time and got exiled brush up on your History (No Offence meant)

@sgtmcnac what the hell is with people discriminating against france? I remember a couple years after empire comes Napoleon who almost took over europe and took the combined forces of many nations just to topple him. Thats so glorious 5+ vs Napoleon and yet napoleon still wins the first couple times. Things that the french cannot control occur and they lose. Its that simple. Napoleon could have easily won waterloo if 1. it hadn't rained 2 he didn't have a stomach bug etc.

Positioning decided a lot of battles too. Maneuvering was something the generals of the French Revolution brought to the table (this includes Napoleon) because the old guard of French aristocratic officers got taken away and so France looked to its younger officers who didn't have a problem with throwing out tradition.
