erm, i dont see ur logic? why give access to files that could fuck up ur system if move, mod or changed when everythin you want to do with a Computer is already there?:S

i think apple as a great computer company thought about that alot. People who buy macs arent morons, quite the Opposite! we just want a computer that just works and tht is sable. Good luck with windows when you can fuck up every single important system file within the OS. another reason i own a mac.

@tehcomputerman this is the main reason linux doesnt get viruses. you can only change them as root. but you cannot log in as root user by default. even if you do get a virus, it only affects the program part of your system. not the system part of your system. so fire up clam antivirus, remove the program, reinstall it, and BAM you dont have the virus anymore.

3 C's, Customization, Configuration, and Compatibility. Linux fulfills all 3.Windows has Compatibility as well, and some Configuration *You can modify the registry* and Mac doesn't offer anything. No Customization, you can configure anything, and it only works on Apple specific hardware.

Linux lack of support? o.O did you ever searched on the official linux forums? there ar thousands of good topic to solve you're problems. Cant you find one write up you're problem and more experience users or even mods can help you there.

Idk if it's different in 10.3 or something but in leopard and snow leopard , maybe even tiger, I can access the system files easily. Macintosh HD- User- System. Boom.

Why Would it Concern you if Linux doesn't Have Support, and if thats your only problem with it there's the winner.
