Basic example of Procedural Planetary Bodies. Planet and moon are generated procedurally using noise functions. (fBm). Texture of Planet is also procedurally generated however moon texture is stock image. Currently no level of detail. Planet consists of 125x125x6 faces and moon is 65x65x6 faces.

  • How do you mean "125 x 125 x 6"? Obviously those aren't cartesian, and in fact it looks from the wireframe like you have many more faces than that.

  • The planet is constructed from an underlying cube structure. Each face of the cube (6 of them) is 125x125 vertices. Each vertex on the cube face is displaced to the radius of the planet plus some noise value giving the planet shape.
