  • It's amazing how many of you think we were doing the shooting. We were filming the animals and some knucklehead who couldn't shoot straight took the shots you see in the video.

  • get a cantilever meter attachment for your rifle and reload or stick to the same ammo and collect as much data out to 800 yards and 400 will be a breeze, theres alot to know and like medicman said hills are fuzy, your point of impact can change high or low with as little as 5 feet elevation over target, not to mention powder temp/burn rate with ambient temp but we wont get into that. happy hunting and iam sure next time will be different.if you have any questions pm me il try to help.

  • If you'd like to see the remainder of that post just gimme a holler. I'd be happy to argue ballistics will anybody!

  • What's up guys...just thought I'd throw it out there, maybe the hill screwed him up a bit? I was a marine scout sniper and I know how tough hill shots can be. Whether firing uphill or down hill you have to make the proper range adjustments for a sloped shot, not just depend on a electronic rangefinder. (if anyone wants to argue this feel free but know that you will lose). It looks like the shot came from the lower right corner of the viewing angle, but the report of the rifle was heard immediat

  • @westdavies

If you really hunted you would realize this is not going to prevent dumbasses (which I'm not saying these hunters were, they were probably bad shots though) from taking stupid shots. Instead all this video is doing is giving hunters a bad name and causing more problems. You're not preventing bad shots.

  • I don't know a thing about the hunters who took the shot in this video, but I do know where I'm from (Washington State) 400 yards is not a morally bad or hopeless shot on an elk. In fact, we hunt with guns that have a big enough caliber it can reach that shot easily, and we have charts with the adjustments for our scopes depending on the yardage/wind/ etc; and we find out the range using a spotting scope or range finder. You can be extremely accurate from deep with a little practice.

  • I couldn't see an elk anywhere near where that round seemed to impact. Thoughts?

  • @TheLifetimehunter Guess you can't handle the truth, Fat Redneck? If TexAss was so desirable to live, you simply wouldn't have taken the pilgrimmage this beautiful land. You're not a true Coloradoan, just a long term pilgrim.

  • @radialspokes I 'm from Texas and live near Pagosa Springs myself , Have for about 20 yrs. You know you can kiss our Texas butts right?

  • That would be an easy shot for most hunters, something had to have happened to his rifle for him to miss that bad.
