Theatrical trailer for the delightful Laurel and Hardy fantasy classic, BABES IN TOYLAND (1934). The popular Victor Herbert opretta, with its setting in mythical Toyland and its Mother Goose character inhabitants, was a marked departure for Stan and Ollie, whose films usually had contemporary settings.
The film also marked the screen debut of Henry Brandon -- here billed under is real name of Henry Kelincah -- at age 22 playing the film's wisened villain, Silas Barnaby. A versatile, prolific actor, the German-born Brandon was often cast in ethnic roles. He may be best remembered for his performances as Sax Rohmer's insidious villain, "Dr. Fu Manchu" in Republic Pictures' superb serial, DRUMS OF FU MANCHU (1940) and the murderous "Chief Scar" in John Ford's western classic, THE SEARCHERS (1956).
BABES IN TOYLAND was re-issued theatrically by in the 1940s as MARCH OF THE WOODEN SOLDIERS shorn of approximately six minutes, including one song, "Go to Sleep."

Everytime I watch this classic whether or not it's Thanksgiving day. I can still smell my Mother's/wifes Turkey cooking in the adjacent kitchen.
