The skipper is obviously struggling going from port to stbd with the tiller extension. This is just some little getting used to. Most owners don't have any issues after a little practice. We recently raced in 35 knots and were gybing at 15 knots steady in the surf, no harm, no pain! Thanks for the comment!! js.
This video is pretty old (dacron sails, smaller spinnaker) and old rudders set up...
However, yeah, looking at the gybe, I can tell you that the skipper is definitely a beginner. Not only he is doing a crash gybe (the boom just slammed from stbd to port, but the traveler is centered and the mainsheet is way eased out...it looks like they actually dont have much speed in the gybe so the main was probably over loaded.

What's up with that gybe at around 2:45? that tiller extension too long for the skip to keep his eyes forward, or just a novice skip?
