The great 1965 Spencer Davis Fontana release 'Keep on running' to an excerpt from Stanley Kubrick's 1968 Masterpiece 2001.
The Spencer Davis group were one of the original bands to perform at the Twisted Wheel club in Manchester. Although this song was played there and at other R&B venues throughout the country, it was the groups 1966 Fontana instrumental B side 'Trampoline' which became cherished among Soulhearts. (The A side being 'When I come home')
With no CGI effects existing at the time, Kubrick had this revolving set built specially for the scene (The cameraman must have been well strapped in).

    Ingenious interplay

    Thank you Doc

  • This video proves something I have been thinking for a while , when you watch older science fiction films notice how things appear more real thats because they are theres no computer graphics or whatever they used scale models and costumes so you still get the effects of real lighting . The movie people today don't seem to really take the time to make the computer graphic stuff look real some do alot dont . Theres alot out there which is noticably fake

  • I used to go to the Twisted Wheel, in Manchester and i saw the Spencer Davis group there with a very young Steve bWinwood. Also John Mayall's Bluesbreakers with Clapton and also Clapton when he was with the Yardbirds before he waqs with mayall. All at the Twisted Wheel. Awesome

  • Someone noted that this sounds like Mystery Achievement by the Pretenders and that Steve's voice is better than on Gimme Some Lovin'.

  • WOW and LOL

I can't stop laughing! xD Seriously... this was great!
