@corrinebarba Dippin Dots uses liquid nitrogen. I believe.
-
What would happen if you mixed liquid nitrogen with some kind of liquid metal?

Cool

@RefleX525 The best source would be companies that supply hospitals with liquid helium for their MRI machines. If your local hospital has an MRI machine, give them a call and see who they contract with.

Where can I buy liquid helium?
-
Man would love to do experiments like this in class.

What happens when you reach 0 Kelvin?
sesamo3000 8 hours ago
@sesamo3000 Thermal energy is at a minimum. Classically, everything stops moving. Quantum mechanically, a small amount of motion exists due to zero point energy.

What would happen if you poured the cold liquid nitrogen in to the colder liquid nitrogen?
bbail22 1 day ago
@bbail22 The cold liquid nitrogen would get colder and the colder liquid nitrogen would get warmer. The final temperature (neglecting the increase caused by energy leaking into the nitrogen from the room) would be somewhere in-between the cold liquid nitrogen and the colder liquid nitrogen, depending on the relative amounts of each.

But isnt liquid nitrogen already cold about 105 deggres below celces?so that would really really cold stuff your dealing with.
smorimoto100 1 day ago
@smorimoto100 It boils at 77 K, which is -196˚C.
