Japan Music Week is a community style festival, showcasing the best emerging artists and new music, in every genre from hiphop, techno, rock and pop, to folk, classical and jazz in Japan.

The Outer Rim is funky club jazz unit hailing from Tokyo Japan with members from The United States, Brazil, France and Japan. The bands sound is a blend of jazz, rock, and funk, with elements of ambient and club music. After releasing their first self titled album in 2008, the band toured Asia and had their music featured on two internationally released compilation albums "Super Hard Extra: New School" and "Absolute: Sounds from Tokyo" as well as a video game arrangement album "No More Heroes Dark Side". 2009 has been a year of change for The Outer Rim with the exit of saxophonist Norihiko Hibino and pianist Hakuei Kim. Bassist/ bandleader Jeff Curry and drummer Fujii Nobuaki remain and new members include Gustavo Anacleto (sax), Hiroya Morooka (keys) and Frederic Viennot on synth.
