Cuffed To Death

Watch this in High Quality if at all possible.

Two incarcerated brothers escape during a prisoner transfer and try to stay alive as the city is devoured by a plague of zombies. Also, somebody gets stabbed in a very uncomfortable place. And I'm not talking about the back seat of a Volkswagon. Or their ass.

Stars Eric Maurer as "Jake" and Vince Rasnick as "David". Shot using a Panasonic DVX100A on the streets of Detroit and a basement in Ypsilanti.

This short was made in 2005 partly as an experiment in lighting (which is why there's a lot of one direction lighting and back lighting with no key or fill) but mostly to have some fun. It's kinda weird watching it now as I've made more than a few strides as a film maker - seems pretty primitive in retrospect. But for like $5 and 2.5 days of shooting it's a solid little short. I'm happiest with the last 2/3rds.
