You should have waited before deploying the parachute. In Battlefield 1942, when you do that, the character fears and screams then.
With stroggs, there is no parachute, just a shield to prevent you from damage when you hit the ground. This is fun (when you land just 1 meter near the enemy).

You can apply third person in the console with the command pm_thirdPerson "1" ("0" is the default)'
