@jor99912 But it's not The Drifters...just a bunch of kids who had NO connection even remote that were thrown together by Treadwell Sr & Jr after they saw a market for The Drifters in the UK having abandoned it after Johnny Moore's death. the guys that sang with Johnny carried on the legacy with his family's blessing. Johnny died penniless thank to Faye Treadwell's horrendous management.

From what I know...Clyde McPhatter was the first original Drifter and the Treadwell management formed other sets of Drifters with Ben E King...Bill Pinckney joined McPhatter and was the last original Drifter until July 4 2008...now there is just splinter groups out there performing

i don't think he is (charley thomas) one of the first lineups. he joined in some of the later lineups , in and out, according to the videos. so many artists got riped off by some of these corp. according to the videos there are a lot of misunderstandings on the drifters. i would love to find a book on them from beginning to now. the truth.

Sorry, Charlie was not an original Drifter from 1952, but he did do the leads on several songs in the early 60s. Bill Pinkney however was the original bass singer , but left the group in 1959. Class is now dismissed.
